Hi everyone! It’s Riana, over in the Database department. I like to start my day with a cup of coffee while I check through my emails and plan what projects I’ll be working on throughout the day.
I’m old school and like to keep a written list of projects needed that are sorted by priority. We house all of our needed projects in a project tracking sheet so the whole team can keep track of status and completion.
Before I begin a project, I do some intel and gather all the necessary documents and information needed to update or create a database. This means I am communicating with Account Directors and sometimes wholesalers to ensure I’m indicating in the database who the wholesaler wants the scheduler to be calling on and their priority. I also find out how the wholesaler likes to travel through their territory so I can create zones and subzones for them.
I think of database work like building a cake, and my frosting and sprinkles are the completed database, map and territory analysis. Throughout my day, I also connect with employees to solve their technical support issues. This keeps me so busy that I sometimes forget to eat lunch! Before I know it, it’s the end of my work day and I love when I am able to complete a project (my cake!) and cross it off my list.
My evening consists of cooking dinner for my husband and I, running errands, hanging with my 3 pups and sometimes enjoying a nice wheat beer on my front porch while the sun goes down or cozying down to watch a good flick.
Riana, thank you for creating a work day that works so well. You are always there for us with your calm and helpful presence. Your great ideas keep us moving forward without missing a beat!
