Today, let’s meet Lauren Castro!

Lauren is a Client Specialist who has been with Paragon for a little over a year. She has recently moved in to a hiring role, so if you have recently applied to work with us – chances are you’ve spoken to her!

Tell us a little bit about you!

“I currently live in Fort Sam Houston, TX. I’m a military spouse of almost 20 years. I’ve been with my husband for 23 years, married for almost 19 of those! We have a 17 year old son, a 12 year old daughter and 2 dogs: a goldendoodle & golden retriever!”

What is your favorite part of the job?

“My favorite part of this job is two-fold: 1) I love that no day is the same in my role with Paragon. Things shift from day to day and you never know what that day will bring. I enjoy the switch up, there’s no monotony. I also love the culture of this company. It is TRULY a family. You always feel appreciated and like someone in our company has your back at any given time.”

What have you gained from working at Paragon?

I have gained self-confidence from the epic training this company provides. I had doubts in the beginning about my strengths and what I could bring to the table as a scheduler. Paragon helped me peel all of those doubts away and helped me realize that I can do this job, and do it well.”

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

“The best advice I’ve been given is not to doubt yourself. If you stick to the training you’ve undergone and believe in yourself, it will show in your work.”

What is your favorite song?

One For My Baby (And One More For The Road) by Frank Sinatra, because his voice in the original recording charms me every single time. Really any song by him, his voice & attention to musical detail was legendary!

Do you have a secret talent?

“I love to sing, but get very nervous singing in front of large crowds!

Desktop Details

The lucky cat figurine came from Korea during our trip there this past summer. It was SUCH a beautiful country, I fell in love! Having this on my desk reminds me of our time there. The “no coffee, no workee” sign was a present from my Mom. She knows my affinity for all things coffee and gave this to me for my desk when I was hired by Paragon.

I love my drink coasters with the pictures of my babies on them (when they were babies). And the dog treat container is for when my dogs come into my office. Because of the treats they stay with me often!
