Today, let’s meet Jill Nieman!

Jill wears lots of hats for Paragon Planners! In the six and a half years she’s been with us, she works with our Scheduling and Educational teams along with providing administrative support vital to our processes.

Tell us a little bit about you!

“Springfield, Missouri is home. We live on 10 acres where my husband and I have raised three kids, two dogs and a cat. We have a senior in college and a senior and a junior in high school. If you are in the St. Louis area, check out the Modern Brewery, my husband is part owner.”

What does Paragon mean to you?

“The ability to feel useful again beyond my children’s needs after being a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. I’m still able to be their mom but also have this for me. It makes me better.”

What is your favorite part of the job?

That’s hard. I wear so many different hats every day that I think that is my favorite part. I get to do a lot of different things all the time.”

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

“The ability to know when to say “No” but also the ability to know when to say “Yes”. Yes, I can do that! Stepping out of that comfort zone to try something new. You may discover you love something new, or you realize it’s not for you. Either way you gave it a shot.”

Do you have a favorite book?

“Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. I think it’s the time period, but I do love the romance and the historical journey it took me on. This past summer my daughter and I read “The Summer I Turned Pretty” series, which was a lot of fun to enjoy together along with watching the tv series.”

What are your hobbies outside of work?

“Watching my son’s high school hockey games as it comes to an end, needlework, anything crafty.”

What is your favorite dessert?

“Homemade Strawberry Shortcake with homemade biscuits!”

My favorite picture of my kids from 10 years ago and lip gloss for those Zoom meetings. The picture always puts a smile on my face and I need a little lip gloss too.

Paragon Flag – It reminds me every day that I’m a part of a big team even though I’m not physically near them.

My extra chair – My kids come in every day after school and sit in this chair to tell me about their day. It’s a ritual that they all have done for years and continue to do daily. I love that I can always be there for them.
