Let’s meet Paragon Scheduler, Andrea Spiskey!
Andrea has been a part of the Paragon family for 3 years. In addition to scheduling, she is an important member on several special crews that help make Paragon special.
Andrea is originally from Boston (GO SOX!) but currently lives with her husband and their daughter in Ohio. They share their space with a 10-year-old Labrador named Buddy and a cat named Brownie.
Q&A with Andrea:
What does Paragon mean to you? “I gained so much knowledge about marketing, the financial industry, and the importance of coming together and working as a team. This is especially important in the virtual world, so you don’t feel so isolated!”
What inspires you? “My husband inspires me. I love his passion for helping others and wanting to do good in this world. He works so hard and is so determined to become a flight nurse that he won’t stop until he is one.”
Do you have a favorite song? “Anything by Britney Spears! I’m a 90s girl and her songs make me want to dance!”
What is your favorite movie? “Aladdin- I’m obsessed with Disney. That has always been my favorite.”
We spoke to one of Andrea’s clients about their 3-year partnership and what makes their team special.
What makes your partnership work? “Andrea is what makes this partnership work because of who she is. She is easy to communicate with and set expectations around what we are trying to accomplish and then she just makes it happen. She does not require a lot of hand holding and is a super self-starter! My experience with other schedulers was that you spent as much time explaining what we were trying to accomplish as you would if you were scheduling meetings yourself and then there was no point. I had not up until the point I worked with her had a positive experience using scheduling services. For that she is due all the credit.”
Communication is super important in a partnership. How did you and Andrea find a way that worked for you? “Trust is at the core of communication. Andrea and I built that trust over the first couple of years which allows us to have candid conversations about both of our expectations of each other and the jobs we are fulfilling. Again, Andrea is the key in this because of her ability to understand and then take that understanding to market on our behalf. She makes it easy.”
What value does your partnership with Andrea bring to your business? Your personal time? “Andrea has been an incredible asset to the team and her persistence is often times the reason I am sitting in front of someone new. They will mention how persistent she was, but more importantly how persistently nice she was. This frees up time for me both personally and professionally to spend my time on other tasks that might get put to the wayside if I was trying to fill my calendar.”
Desk Details:
“The Four Agreements is something I try to keep in the back of my head each day. It’s a constant reminder for me to always be my best and was something a coworker and I printed out together at my previous job and motivates me daily. The Coffee candle, well, I love coffee AND candles! I’m originally from Boston, so the Patriots Candle is a given, of course, and I got it when I lived in South Carolina! I love traveling and have been to Italy twice. Paris is on my bucket list so I have Eiffel towers everywhere, hence the Eiffel Tower book. It hold pictures of my family inside.”
“Disney princess cards- I love the princesses, and Jasmine is my favorite. It used to be hard to find anything with her on it so whenever I find random things with her included, I can’t resist and always buy it!”
“The Friends calendar- I’m a huge fan. It is my favorite TV show of all time and I’ve probably watched the entire series 100+ times. The 6 things mentally strong people do is another sign a previous coworker and I printed out together. We have a strong bond and she would push me to be my best daily. I guess I keep those there as a reminder of her and our fun times together at work, as well as motivation for me to be my best.”
